Add Photos to Markers

Why attach a photo

A photo can provide context that is difficult to capture in a short description.

Examples include documenting a hazard, access condition, road problem, equipment location, water source, or other field information.

Photos remain attached to the Marker so the image stays connected to its geographic location.

Add a photo

The attached image appears as a thumbnail with the Marker.

1. Open or create a Marker.
2. Open the Marker editing screen.
3. Find the Photos section.
4. Tap Add Photo.
5. Choose the available photo source.
6. Add the photo.
7. Save the Marker.

View an attached photo

Select a Marker that contains a photo.

Photo thumbnails appear in the Marker information. Use the photo to review the visual information associated with that location.

Remove a photo

Open the Marker for editing and use the delete control on the photo you want to remove.

Save the Marker after making your changes.

Photos and sharing

Photos are stored locally with MCG Maps on your device.

Current MCG Map package sharing does not include attached Marker photos. When sharing information, do not assume the recipient will receive a Marker photo unless the sharing workflow specifically includes it.
