Share Maps and Markers
Deliberately transfer one or more Map PDFs, Marker data, or an MCG Map package.
Sharing is deliberate transfer
MCG Maps lets you choose files or data and send them through the normal iOS sharing workflow. Sharing does not create a live shared map, synchronize Incidents, or automatically update another person's information.
Review the selected option and verify received information before relying on it. Sharing does not replace operational communication or verification procedures.
Share one Map PDF
Choose Map Only for an imported Map to share the original PDF. This sends the PDF without adding your Incident Markers to it.
Share multiple Map PDFs
Open map-management mode, select multiple imported Maps, and choose Share. MCG Maps prepares the selected original PDFs together for the iOS share sheet.
Multi-map sharing sends separate PDF files. It does not combine them into one PDF or synchronize later changes.
Share Marker data
Share one or more Markers as GeoJSON for MCG Maps or other compatible workflows. Export compatible Marker data as KML for applications that support that format.
MCG Maps can also import supported GeoJSON and KML Marker data, plus bounded KMZ files containing supported KML point data. KMZ photo resources are not imported.
Compatibility depends on what the receiving or source application includes and supports. MCG Maps creates files for you to share; it does not send data through a live integration.
Share a Map with Incident Markers
Choose Map + Markers to create an .mcgmap package for another compatible MCG Maps installation.
The package contains one selected Map PDF, the Incident's Marker data as GeoJSON, and package information needed for import. Because Markers are Incident-wide, the package may include Markers outside that PDF's extent.
An .mcgmap package does not include attached Marker photos. Share important photos separately.
Open received files
Open or share a supported GeoJSON, KML, KMZ, or .mcgmap file with MCG Maps and review the import preview or destination workflow before completing the import.
After import, verify that the expected Map and Marker information is present.
