Incident

An Incident keeps the maps and field information for one incident together.

Create an Incident before you add imported maps or Markers. Use separate Incidents to keep unrelated work separate.

Topo Map and imported GeoPDF Maps

Every Incident includes a permanent Topo Map. It uses an online USGS topographic basemap and is available without importing a GeoPDF.

Supported GeoPDFs are additional Maps within the Incident. They appear geographically over the topo basemap, so you can pan beyond the PDF boundary onto topo. You can adjust PDF opacity or turn the basemap off while viewing the GeoPDF.

The imported PDF stays stored locally and remains usable when the online basemap is unavailable.

Incident-wide Markers

Markers belong to the Incident, not to an individual GeoPDF.

Their geographic locations remain valid as you switch Maps. A Marker outside the selected GeoPDF boundary can still appear on the surrounding Topo Map surface.

The structure

1. Create or open an Incident.
2. Use its permanent Topo Map immediately, or add one or more supported GeoPDF Maps.
3. Add and manage Incident-wide Markers from the map or Marker list workflow.
